Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Blindness on 10th February 2009 priced at $29.99 SRP. When a sudden, inexplicable epidemic of blindness sweeps a major city, health authorities round up the victims and quarantine them in Blindness, an apocalyptic thriller from director Fernando Meirelles. The wife (Julianne Moore) of an afflicted doctor (Mark Ruffalo) feigns blindness in order to accompany her husband into internment and finds that fear and brutality have infected the closed community.

An all out war erupts between inmates as criminals and the physically powerful prey upon the weak over food and other necessities. As the sole sighted inmate, The Doctor’s Wife is the only one who can put a stop to the violence, but saving her loved ones may mean sinking to the level of the worst of her adversaries.

With no extras announced, this would appear to be a barebones release. The film is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

Julianne  hates strangers talking to her. The Blindness actress doesn’t like fans assuming they know her and wishes they would respect her privacy.

She said, “I simply don’t like talking about my acting or the scene or any of that. I need my space. I’m there doing my thing, and to someone who doesn’t know me, it will look like they can talk to me. But they can’t.” J

Julianne also admits her career decisions are often influenced by the lure of money. She explained to a magazine, “There  is stuff that you end up doing because you need the money.”

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are set to star in “A Single Man,” Ford’s adaptation of the Christopher Isherwood novel.

Published in 1964, the novel centers on a gay man who, after the sudden death of his partner, is determined to persist in his usual routine, which is seen in the span of a single, ordinary day in Southern California.

Firth is the gay man, an Englishman and professor who feels like an outsider in Los Angeles. Goode is the boyfriend who dies in a car accident and appears in flashbacks. Moore plays a friend of the professor.

Ford adapted the screenplay with David Scearce. His company Fade to Black Prods. is producing along with Depth of Field’s Chris Weitz and Andrew Miano and Robert Salerno of Artina Films.

The pic, packaged by CAA, is independently financed with foreign sales being handled by IM Global. A Monday start date is being eyed.

Ford rose to the top of the fashion world with a 10-year run at Gucci which turned around the fortunes of the fashion house. He stepped down in 2004, signing on with CAA with the aim to slide into the director’s chair.

Firth, repped by CAA, was last seen in “Mamma Mia!” while Moore, repped by CAA and Management 360, last starred in “Blindness.” CAA-repped Goode plays Ozymandias in next year’s “Watchmen.”

Julianne Moore is the latest celebrity to go green in public.

Julianne is working with Burt’s Bees to draw attention to a new label handed out by a trade group, the Natural Products Association, to certify personal-care products as “natural” if they are made from 95 percent natural ingredients with minimal processing. Julianne says she’s been working to use more cleaning products made from natural ingredients and switching to organic food for her 6-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son.

Protecting her famously fair skin with fewer chemicals has been a little trickier. “I will start to investigate the chemical-free ones,” she says, saying both she and her kids use sunscreen even in the winter.

The rest of Moore’s beauty routine is simple: She gets as much rest as she can and wears as little makeup as possible on days when she isn’t working.

Puff, there’s a lot of stuff of Julianne at Tokyo International Film Festival and I have uploaded a lot of new event pictures from this film festival in Tokyo, Japan. It was so weird, because I was attending a japanese event in Mexico City (Jam Project concert) with my cousin and Julianne was in Japan, lol. Well, stop talking about me and my trip and of course enjoy the recent pictures. I also got a mexican magazine with Julianne on the cover but I’ll upload the scans soon and if I forget it, please guys remind me, ok?
